A new road stud for the UK market, used extensively in Scandinavia, where it is chosen for its snowplowable nature and its high S1R1 performance.
We offer a full contracting service to supply and install the heavy duty Eurimex LLHD road stud. Fully compliant and approved for use in the UK.
The Eurimex LLHD is installed by our own trained crews by first milling a fine, complex shaped recess into the existing surface (whether concrete or asphalt) using one of our Wirtgen cold milling machines. After application of the hot melt adhesive, the stud is placed into the tight fitting, shaped profile.
The shoulders of the stud sit on the existing surface course, securing the correct position of the stud. This guarantees the stud will not sink into the surface, thereby ensuring optimum reflectivity is achieved with every stud installed.
Simultaneously, our crews can remove existing studs and fill the void with BBA HAPAS approved Jointmaster IMP material, ensuring a long term, safe repair and a full contracted operation from single source.
With outputs of over 300 per crew per shift, including removal of the existing Halifax studs and filling the resultant holes, we are confident we can achieve your studding requirements.
The Eurimex LLHD is fully CE marked & UK approved to performance standard S1R1under CE EN1463.
The performance standard achieved by the Eurimex LLHD is the highest standard available to any road stud in the UK or Europe. The two measures which are tested for in the road trials are the number of studs still in the surface and performing after 12 months and the reflectivity reading after 12 months.
S1: Eurimex LLHD achieved no loss of studs or reflectors after the 12 months road trial.
R1: Eurimex LLHD achieved minimum reflectivity 150 mcd after 12 months road trial. In fact, the actual reflectivity levels achieved were 218 mcd average of 20 readings

Traditional UK road studs are installed using a machine that gouges a round hole in the road before grinding back and forth to elongate the hole. As a result, all traditional road studs in the UK fit this or a circular profile.
Road studs requiring alternative installation machinery have not been adopted by installers, as they would incur additional plant and equipment costs. The result is that the UK has been restricted from using new, innovative solutions such as the Eurimex LLHD.
The Eurimex LLHD is installed using a Wirtgen cold road planer. This machine with a special cutting head, creates a fine milled, complex profiled cut in the road surface with 80% less excavation than with traditional studs. The road stud sits neatly into this profile, requiring minimal amount of road stud grout to hold it in place.
The Eurimex LLHD has a number of unique factors that make it desirable for use in the UK, not least that it is snowplowable, a factor that has made it hugely popular in Scandinavia. Given the harsh winters being experienced in the UK, the Eurimex LLHD has benefits over traditional road studs in this environment, because traditional depressible studs can lose the rubber insert as well as the reflector to a snow plough blade. With the Eurimex LLHD, a rubber snow blade will not affect the integrity of the stud. The reflector will not move and is additionally protected by a centre rail which guides the snow plough blade over the reflector.
The Eurimex LLHD is installed by using a Wirtgen road planer (of which we have three) to produce the profiled rebate.
These machines have the ability to install Eurimex LLHD road studs at a rate of 100 studs every hour.
Couple this with the numerous unique facets of the Eurimex LLHD road stud and we felt there was an opportunity to offer an installation service for the this excellent road stud in the UK.

One of the key features of the Eurimex roadstud is that the reflectors can be easily replaced whilst leaving the metal stud housing in-situ.

The reflector used is the Ray-O-Lite 2002 which is fully DfT approved for use in its own right as a non-depressible surface-bonded reflector.

The 2002 is a long-life reflector with an abrasion resistant coating chemically bonded to the lens surface to protect it from the grinding action of dirt, sand and contact from traffic.
The expected life of a Ray-O-Lite 2002 reflector mounted within the Eurimex LLHD is minimum 5 years.
Measurements 57mm wide x 118mm long by 14mm high
Molded with optic grade Methyl Methacrylate
The Ray-O-Lite 2002 is re-installed with a typical road stud hot melt adhesive
The Ray-O-Lite 2002 relectors can renewed by our own crews as part of a supply and refit contract or alternatively they are available to purchase directly from Eurimex www.eurimex.co.uk along with road stud grout for refitting by others.
